Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises

This is official! Bane and Catwoman are definitely going to make an appearance in the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.

So who will be playing these characters? People have been guessing at what role Tom Hardy will be playing in TDKR. Well guess no more because he’s set to play Bane. The giant-bruiser who once broke Batman’s back. I can hear a few people wince at the sound of the character Bane after Joel Schumachers lovely portrayal of the brute in Batman & Robin… moving on.

So then. Who is going to be filling the boots of a Miss Selina Kyle aka Catwoman? Anne Hathaway is going to be playing the feline vigilante, which at first I was a bit skeptical about, but that’s how I felt when I first heard Heath Ledger was to play The Joker in The Dark Knight, and we all know what happened with that!

Apparently, Catwoman will be filling the void left by Batman’s disappearance and causing mayhem with her own style of vigilante justice, which brings the caped crusader back into action.

We all know that Christopher Nolan is a genius, so I’m quite excited to see how he pulls of the character of Bane in his more ‘real life’ versions of Batman. Tom Hardy is a fantastic actor so there’s no worry about him not being able to play the role well. Have you seen him in the film ‘Bronson’?! As for Catwoman, it sounds like a good way of introducing her into the film.

The only downside to all of this is that we still have another 18 months to wait until we can see Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film with a release date of July 20 2012. After that, I don’t see the point in making anymore. I mean, who the hell can top what he’s done with the franchise thus far?

There’s bound to be some people out there who completely disagree with everything I’ve just said about the Dark Knight Rises, so why don’t you leave your comments below? For those who have a neutral opinion or share my views, why don’t you do the same?
