Recently, according to a source over the net, as of Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at least 4,174 personnel of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.
No less than 3,379 military members died as a result of hostile action. Moreover, the figure includes eight military civilians killed in action.
On the other hand, the British military has reported 176 military personnel deaths; Italy, 33; Ukraine, 18; Poland, 21; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Denmark, 7; El Salvador, 5; Slovakia, 4; Latvia and Georgia, three each; Netherlands, Estonia, Thailand and Romania, two each; and Australia, Kazakhstan, Hungary and South Korea, one death each.
