Dell Inc., the Round Rock-Texas based multinational technology company, has launched the Dell Vostro A860 for the US markets, which is an affordable notebook that was previously targeted only at emerging markets.
Starts at $379, the Dell Vostro A860 notebook features Intel's Celeron or Dual Core CPU, GM965 chipset with GMA X3100+ integrated GPU, 1GB or 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 120GB or 160GB hard drive, and a Combo optical drive or DVD burner, all depending on model. The anti-glare type screen-display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Interestingly, the Dell Vostro A860 uses 15.6” anti-glare widescreen HD LCD display for easy viewing.
The Dell Vostro A860 notebook also includes 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN, optional Bluetooth, and a 56k modem, as well as a single speaker, 2 USB ports, a PC Card slot, 3-in-1 media card reader, and Firewire. In addition, with a standard 4-cell battery, the Dell Vostro A860 notebook weighs 5.4 pounds. The Dell Vostro A860 notebook runs Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic or Vista Business.
