Microsoft: The End of Windows XP OEM

Whether like it or not, if you buy computer that use Microsoft Windows as its operating system in the year of 2008, no doubt that the operating system that will be used is Windows Vista. This is because the deadline’s term that been given to the companies that make computers that selling Windows XP OEM version is until January 2008.

If this action takes by Microsoft, its means that those companies will be forced to use Windows Vista operating system in those computers made by them, irrespective of the problems of Vista’s driver and hardware’s requirements.

The good news, Microsoft is preparing a new service pack before January 2008. Although the market of operating system is still being dominated by Microsoft, Apple is one of those names that should being considered as a threat for Microsoft. There are also many of Linux operating systems that work hard to make more intuitive and ease to use operating system.

There are still many of the companies that don’t prepare themselves to move on Vista, one of them is Dell. In specific, Dell have said through their blog at Direct2Dell that the small companies and consumers need more time to understand and get used to with the new operating system.
