Philips Xenium X800: High-End Market Phone

Nowadays, Philips are ready to the high-end market. They have officially stepped up with two new handsets - the Philips Xenium X-Connect and the Philips X800. The Philips X800 is a full touch-screen gadget with a large display, while the Philips Xenium X-Connect is a Windows Mobile-based device with an even bigger TFT display. The Philips X800 is all-touch-screen equipped mobile phone made by the China-based manufacturer.

The Philips X800 offers up a 29.inch 240 x 400 QVGA TFT touch-screen, 2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900, WAP 2.0 x HTML, MP3/MPEG4/WAV/AAC music player, Java MIDP 2.0, SMS, EMS, MMS, Bluetooth, the much admired microSD transflash memory card slot, 1250 mAh battery which brings the user up to 8 hours of talk time and 850 hours of standby time. Moreover, the Philips X800 does not make difference and the manufacturer promises up to 850 hours of standby time and up to 8 hours of talk-time.The devices under Philips Xenium brand are best known for some extraordinary battery time.

The Philips Xenium X-Connect will also have an integrated GPS-receiver and will offer Bluetooth, USB and a microSD memory card slot. More than anything though, the device has killer looks. Unfortunately, currently no availability or pricing info is known on the Philips Xenium X-Connect.

According to the rumors, there is a lack of 3G and Wifi and even EDGE connectivity with the Philips Xenium X800 mobile phone that will possible kill the deal with a lot of people, and it also probably indicates the Philips Xenium X800 is destined only for the Asian market.
Next, Philips Xenium X-Connect, will run on Windows Mobile 6 and will have a large 3-inch display (resolution and touchscreen functionality are still not clear). It will be rich in connectivity features such as GPRS/UMTS/HSDPA, however lacking Wi-Fi.
