Samsung SGH E590 Camera Phone Review

Samsung has announced its new mid-level handset, Samsung SGH E590, which is available in Europe, China, and South East Asia markets. However, until today, I got a chance to review it in little bit.

Samsung SGH E590 is a designer fashion phone with a focus on imaging for European and Asian markets. Jasper Morrison designs Samsung SGH E590 in stunningly different from pretty much everything that we would expect in a modern mobile phone; it offers plenty of features inside of it with well looking device and affordable price.

Samsung SGH E590 is trying to put an image as a small and basic as it could be. However, it embeds a high-quality camera module, a high-quality TFT display and a decent 3MP camera, which is the main attraction of the phone.

Main features of Samsung SGH E590:

• 3MP auto-focus camera with a half-shutter key
• Tri-band GSM/GRPS/EDGE support
• Square 1.8" 262K color TFT display with 220x220 pixels resolution
• Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
• FM radio
• MS Office documents viewer
• MicroSD memory card slot
• MicroSD card in the retail package (512MB or 1GB varying by market)
• Really compact body and ascetic design
• Intriguing bean bag in the retail package

Main disadvantages of Samsung SGH E590:

• Slow memory-card reading
• No TV out functionality
• Slow document viewer
• Java applications can be installed only through WAP
• Only preset message ring-tones

Samsung SGH E590 in Minimalist-Look Design

However, for a minimalist-look design, the phone has a user-friendly navigation; great display and nice camera, all packed together in fashionable handsets. All controls are placed on the right side of the phone, such as dual Zoom button, Camera key and Mode key. On the left side of the handset includes MicroSD slot card for memory expansion, the universal port for charger, USB connection or headset and dual volume key. On the back of the phone, you will notice the powerful 3.0MP camera with auto-focus and the Samsung logo together with a small icon that defines this device as a camera phone.
However, there is no external speaker, so you must be stuck with the in-call speaker if you want to listen to music without any earphones. Finally yet importantly, as a cheap solution, this gadget is highly recommended for the people that love minimalist-style with a powerful camera feature.
