Green Tea Extract to Boost Cancer-Fighting Enzymes

Lately, more people are looking for natural medicine to cure their illness. Most of them are lack of knowledge in such kind of therapy. Although the electronic media have reported many kind of alternatives, but people still would not believe it. They are more depending on the hospital treatments. They are happier to pay in large amount of money than struggling to find a better way to improve their healthy.

Dr. H. H. Sherry Chow, an investigator from the Arizona University, has found that concentrated green tea extract could be beneficial to those who are deficient in the detoxification enzyme and should not be harmful for those who have adequate detoxification enzyme. The researcher believes that healthy subjects who received daily caffeine-free green tea extract capsules had an increased production of detoxification enzymes, which may provide some cancer-fighting benefits.

According to Dr. Chow and his colleagues, many factors are playing the cause of people to have varying levels of glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzymes, such as genetic and environmental factors. The enzymes (GST) are playing the crucial role in aiding the body-defend against toxic and cancer-causing compounds.

Research studies have found that green tea compounds antioxidants called catechins, the antioxidants that able to activate GST enzymes. Moreover, Dr. Chow’s team has investigated that the concentrated compounds from green tea would have on GST enzymes levels in 42 healthy adults. The discovery was published in the medical journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.

Although the researchers already have great news for us, more clinical testing is still needed to confirm the cancer preventive activities of green tea or green tea extract.
