LG Voyager to Challenge Apple iPhone

Couple of weeks ago, Verizon Wireless has introduced couple hot mobile handsets. Once again, LG announce its new handset, LG VX10000 Voyager. LG Voyager is equipped with an external touch-screen, when the user open the slide, it will reveal a full QWERTY keypad.

Some people predicted that LG Voyager would be the iPhone killer, this because iPhone does not employ 3G technology. Instead, it uses AT&T Edge data network, slower alternative. On the other hand, LG Voyager will take advantage of Verizon’s High Speed EVDO network (no word on Wi-Fi), which is probably its most significant advantage over the iPhone.

LG Voyager, a mobile phone which is comes with an array of multimedia capabilities that include an HTML Web browser; Verizon Wireless' V Cast mobile TV, video, and the URGE music service; MP3 playback ability, as well as WMA, and AAC files. For more media and file storage, the Voyager has a removable MicroSD memory slot that can hold up to 8 GB of memory. Moreover, LG does not want to miss 2MP built-in camera in its handset. Unfortunately, LG should make it up to 3MP or higher. The 2MP built-in camera seems does not suit anymore for nowadays need.

The LG Voyager will be in stores by the end of November 2007; pricing has not yet been announced.
